just after some advice, I've been looking at starting a penny set to add some Pre-decimal to my collection when i came upon this

http://www.sterlingcurrency.com.au/items/complete-set-australian-pennies-1911-1964-75-coins-including-1925-and-1946-ex-1930

Looks like an easy way to gather a near complete set but do you guys think   this is worth it?

Question what is meant by "mint sport" in the third paragraph?

Its where the Mint workers mess about at work creating unauthorized Coins :ok:

Wouldn't that be illegal and corrupt?

Quote from: 'markn' pid='40078' dateline='1390198018'This question comes up at least once every six months.  The RAM website is wrong.  There was no MOR dollar for 1992.  This has been confirmed directly with the RAM (but for the life of me I cannot find the email).

You would think you RAM would get their facts correct, haha

Quote from: 'interest' pid='40019' dateline='1390137786'But in 1982 our house was robbed & all my coins, notes & guitars were stolen. (no insurance of course) Devastated to say the least.

Ouch that will kill me. Im hoping that my safe that I own is good enough to deter a burglar

Australian Decimal Circulating Coins / 1992 dollar

So as a new collector one of the first things I'm trying to accomplish is filling a binder of all decimal circulating coins.

Upon looking at the RAM mintage figures I notice the mintage of the 1992 dollar coins to be very low in comparison to all other coins at just 0.008 million.

I'm just wondering if this is going to be the trouble coin to find?

Quote from: 'Goldseeker' pid='39892' dateline='1390015624'Another important point is how are you storing your coins.   There is quite a bit of discussion here somewhere about storing coins

I visited the RAM on my honeymoon last year and the tour guide said to get PVC free sheet to store them in.

Quote from: 'Mister T' pid='39880' dateline='1390010384'If you want to fill gaps in your circulation set, going to the bank and getting bags to look through can speed up the process.

Iv some pretty good luck with some help from family, but I'm finding my biggest gap and the hardest to fine are the 2001 federation commemorative 20 and 50 cent coins.
