That pnc is different it didn't come in plastic. Just the pnc in a white (? -if I recall correctly) cardboard envelope (mailer) for protection.

There is no cover on this PNC, only a sandwich bag that someone has wrapped around it.

Anyone know what the story with these 1988 silver proof Coat of Arms 50c mules is: https://www.pcgs.com/valueview/50-cents-1966-date/1988-50c-coa-mule-dcam/5077?sn=609285&h=pop?
I had a look through McDonald's and there seem to be a few silver proof sets from the time which should have had the regular Bicentenary reverse.

Drake Sterling has one of the circulation 1988 mules for sale for $19,500: https://www.drakesterling.com/australia-1988-coat-of-arms-mule-fifty-cent-pcgs-ms64-47341243
I think there was another dealer that had one for sale for $15,000 or so a few months ago too.

https://www.pcgs.com/cert/47341243 is the one that's currently for sale.

I've always found the 2001 Federation 50 cent coins almost impossible to collect from pocket change and general noodling.
Perhaps one needs to try the bank rolls again for better luck (or wait to buy any 1kg bag of them that might come up
for sale on the Forum here ( be happy waiting on that one!!!!!).

I assume you mean the States and Territories Coat of Arms ones and not the standard Federation 50 cents with 43 Million minted.
It was pretty good fun looking for those Coat of Arms ones back in 2001/2002.

Back 15 to 20 years ago I had no trouble finding them when noodling. Used to make up sets and sell them on eBay for reasonable money.
So many people have grabbed any they see makes them very scarce in circulation now.

This is from one noodling session. I only kept better condition Commonwealth CoA.
