 Robbie , what is it about the 64 penny that makes you so excited ,is it the colour or just the coin , I have one just sitting on my desk right in front of me now , it comes from circulation , lots of small marks but still it is 1964 penny , is there any dots or special marks I should look out for ,.. if we get to Canberra next year I will bring it down for you . we were on our way down this year until I had my trouble . next year should be a lot better .  ,, kel ,,

I really don't know why I collect the 1964 penny - a few reasons maybe
1. I remember using pennies & I remember the change over and pennies were like prizes when I was a little girl - a penny bought a lot of things at the lollie shop
2. They are cheap to buy and I have collected hundreds for years now at under 5cents each up to a roaring 15cents each - so I have colourful albums of beautiful colourful coins that didn't cost me a fortune. I now mostly only collect colourful uncirculated ones (ex the error coins).
3. They were the end of the line so they show up in beautiful uncirculated condition and are lovely to collect in those high grades.
4. I guess I tried to make them my speciality coin & I tried to learn as much as could about them.
5. The errors/varieties are limited but I try to collect all of them for my books - large dots, die cracks, extra denticle marks  and not forgetting the misstrikes
I have frequently posted pictures of my 1964 error coins in the Friday photos and other threads (the 1964 penny thread I think)
if you come down this way I could bore you stupid by showing you my albums!!! cheers robbie

I did compare it with the one in my album; but only to confirm what I already thought.

Still, a mule's a mule and a quick sale on eBay puts a few hundred dollars into the Christmas fund.

Good idea Mate, Sell it when they are "Hot" .
The "Zing" is slowly fading on these in lower grades :good:
Also a few extra bucks is ALWAYS handy this time of year :dance:
