How on earth do you figure that? Have you never used a portable press? The operators generally watch them like hawks, and stuffups are few and very far between.

I'd be surprised if there were more of these.

I agree with Fulvio & Trout,if we see another i'll be amazed,they actually have a miniature camera set up on the press so the operator can watch a small screen when placing the coin in the press,so to get the alignment right.
One of the people working the press must have gotten distracted somehow & this coin did'nt get placed in the press properly & i just happened to be the "lucky" recipient. :yahoo:

I don't personally  collect errors but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate them and have some idea of the rarity of certain items.

If this is the only one and its given publicity then i can see it being worth quite a bit. Personally i wouldnt pay much for something like this but thats not to say that there isnt someone who would kill to have it.

Six grand sounds like a very reasonable value if there's only one. Even if there are only a couple.

After all, there are what, 1,700 1930 pennies? And they're in crap condition mostly.
