Hello everyone!
My name is Momchil, and I am from a small European country that some of you may not have heard of.
Here is why I am reaching out on this forum. A few months ago, I sent a small collection of PCGS-certified coins to a major European auction house for sale; among them are some interesting Rare pre-decimal Australian pennies. The consignment agreement specifies "sale without a reserve price," and I assumed this was standard practice. The online auction began a week ago, and I received a notification from the auction house and then I realized revealing that some of the coins have been listed with a very low starting price. For instance, one of the rarest pieces—a 1919 "double dot" penny (graded AU55 by PCGS)—has a starting price of just 100 Euros. Another of the coins - 1 penny 1920 English obverse, Dot below scroll (AU55) has a starting price of just 75 Euros.
I am aware that these coins are not widely known in Europe, and outside of Australia and the US, they are unlikely to fetch a good price. However, if such a coin were to sell for only 100–200 Euros, it would be a loss not only for me but for Australian collectors as well. So, my question is: is it possible—without violating forum rules—to somehow alert a few Australian collectors, who would have an interest in these auctions, about the presence of these rare coins in the auction? I would appreciate any advice you could offer on how to proceed.
I believe the online auction concludes on November 12th–13th, after which the coins will pass quickly through a live auction.
Best regards,
Momchil

Hello, Basilstate, thank you!
Since you believe that this does not violate the forum rules, I am sharing a link to the six coins that were part of my small collection for several years. All 6 coins are certified by PCGS. The seventh item shown below—a token—is not mine.

Have a great day,
Momchil

Hi Momchil,

As a collector of pre decimal varieties myself, I share your concern that the opening bids on five of the six coins are way too low. In my opinion, I believe the opening bid for the 1920 dot below Indian obverse is about right for a winning bid. Good luck with getting your information out into the main stream.
As we age we lose three things, one is our memory and arrrrr I've forgotten the other two!

Autocoupler, thanks!
Yes, the prices are low, but I noticed in past Heritage Europe auctions that a significant number of coins end up selling for 5–6 times their starting price; so, the low starting price is likely a tactic they use to attract watchers.
