Or less so.

Estimate 5 to 6 thousand. Sold for 4 thousand plus buyers premium, postage and shipping.
Nice looking coin but seriously...

Some people have a lot of money? Maybe not to the guy who paid a few million for a banana duct taped to an art gallery wall as "art", then he ate it.

Which auction house was that and where? I know there is one graded by NGC PF65RB for sale in the next Smalls Auction. That one has the Remick pedigree. I would buy it if money was not an option but unfortunately it definitely is for me.

Found it. The coin I was talking about was the one which sold today. Next week they have some 1939 Irish Proofs for sale graded also by NGC. I think they are ex Remick collection also.

Yes it was today's Smalls auction. They have little to no clue at that auction house.
They had two lots for a single 2000 Federation 5 dollar note, one starting at $750 and the other at $900. Neither were first or last prefixes.
I wrote to them and said these are $20 notes everyday of the week.
The guy who replied asked what I was smoking. I then pointed him at eBag and said Do some research. I also said I had some I could sell them at $300 each if they were stupid enough to buy them.
No reply surprisingly.

no worse than people buying non tangible items thinking they are worth something. What are they called?
NFT or something.
And that guy has more money than sense. His "certificate" says he can stick a banana to the wall with duct tape and call it art.
