New $50 banknote

I just checked the $50's that my son & I have, the serials go into the H's and all have the spelling error. 

I'd say it's a pretty fair bet that all $50's for 2018 will be the same.

Thanks, that saves me panicking that I should be looking for some. Now all I have to do is find a first and last Lowe Fraser $20  and a last prefix 2017 $100 note without paying a ridiculous amount.

Ooh nice, pick about 10 in the middle and put those away and try to float the rest in groups of two and three on fleabag.
I managed to pick up 10 HE17 $100s the other day from the bank. Nearly all uncirculated. Was very pleased with that.

Yeah they are but most still seem to be in Victoria or South Australia. I auctioned a few off on fleabag and a couple got bought by another fleabag seller. I would have preferred they go to collectors, not someone who is going to resell them for more, but if people don't bid, what can you do?
At least it made me enough to put away some in my collection for essentially free, which was great.

Wifey comes home from shopping yesterday and I went through the banknotes in her purse.

I found two Last freix 2018 $50 notes.

Seems to be a far few IB18 notes around. I got one from the bank the other day too in excellent condition.
Plus I picked up a DA13 $20 note, a few folds but doesn't look terrible. Luckily I got three consecutive ones graded I bought ages back and they all graded 68 so very happy with those. Might put the circulated DA13 up on fleabag when they give me free listings again.

This was interesting reading on the RBA's report.

A couple of months after the new $50 banknote was released into general circulation it was noticed that there was a spelling error in the microprint containing the excerpt from Edith Cowan's maiden parliamentary speech. Despite the misspelling, these banknotes remain legal tender and can continue to be used. The error was corrected in the print run that commenced in mid 2019 and the Reserve Bank and NPA have reviewed processes to reduce the likelihood of such an error occurring in the future.

This means the NEW ones have the error fixed so I need to get the microscope out to check the latest runs.

Went to the bank today to withdraw some money and got 2 x $50 IB18 notes.
Asked the teller if she had any more. She looked thru the draw and said no but had some $50AA notes.
When I got home I had a closer look and they are $50 AA20 notes and the 5 are consecutive.
