Quotea stylised representation of the designer's initials 'BK'."

WOW a coin designed by the "Blowfly King" with a stylised "1" in maggots, I can hardly wait for this stupendous coin :dash1::laugh2:

QuoteLooks like the 2014 mint and proof sets are going to contain a coloured and gold plated $1 MOR coin

maybe but I would look at the wording {$1 Copper and Nickel Selectively Gold Plated Coin – Mob of Roos} $1 coins are usually Copper, Aluminium and Nickel, so why the different planchet.

it's either a typo or we are going to get a silver coloured dollar coin instead of a "Goldie"

Yeah I was thinking that was a mistake and they forgot the aluminium in the middle of copper and nickel.

It may not be a typo because gold plating on a standard ali/bronze coin just wouldn't work well IMHO.
You never know this may be a special silvery coloured coin.
They did a ali/bronze 50 cent coin in 2003 for the golden jubilee and that coin is unique :good:
We will just have to wait and see what happens :ok:

Currency Determination No 5 of 2013 released.

http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2013L01960

A Remembrance Day $2 and a couple of NCLT.

purplepennyhunter

Oooh very cool. Picture the coronation $2, make the stripes green and remove the crown and replace it with a dove with an olive branch!

Oh hang on, make the green concentric circles and change the purple to look like rays of sun.

I mocked it up on a piece of paper but my artistic skills are abominable.

I see one of them will have a 'C' on it.

That will be the collector version, and the other will be for circulation.

So as predicted, we now have a pattern.

Annual $2 coloured coins, in circulating and $12.95 C mintmarks, different colour each year, but all basically the round symmetrical design to make printing easy. Mintage of a couple of million, likely distributed the same was as the coronations were.... mixed into bags first, then bulk released months later.

I guess it works, but jeez its going to be hard to keep up. :(

I'd better see about flogging off these 2013 Standard designs... anybody want to buy a few hundred/thousand? Available with or without errors, and even un-noodled. ;)
