how are the boarder folk going?
I see prepare to evacuate alerts for tweed heads

AJ - old man - are you guys getting the effects of Big Deb as well?

we are driving over to Sydney again next week so I hope it will be all over
we only have a little car not bigger than a pea pod and I don't believe that it floats all that well

Pedro

Supposed to be just a few showers (in theory) up here on a couple of days next week RG so your pea pod should be fine.

It rained here all day yesterday (25km north of Coffs Harbour) this morning it seems to have eased a bit but the wind has picked up. Hopefully what's left of Debbie is finally on its way back out to sea.

Yes lots of rain yesterday and howling winds but like Rob the rain has eased today but it's still pretty windy.

We had rain and winds yesterday here at Redcliffe with very strong winds about 7pm last night.

I had to go to Redcliffe Hospital to pick up my daughter (RN on duty yesterday) at 7pm, trees were down and entrance to hospital and some roads blocked by fallen trees and branches.

Clean up today, fees branches in my yard but we did not get what others up north had.

My thoughts are with them all.
Cheers

From today's Sydney Morning Herald;
''Thinking back a few years, living in Queensland, I remember cyclone Doris. I was ready for it but my wife was not. When the wind reached a screaming pitch with the trees snapping and threshing, the horizontal streaming rain, flying roofing iron and destroyed fences as well as the unnerving soundlevels, my wife was rooted to the spot. She stared and stared through the glass of the window. Immovable, with her nose pressed to the window pane, the stark fear in her eyes will stay with me for ever. Fortunately, as the eye of the storm arrived and the winds temporarily lessened, I was able to open the door and let her in.'' Bill Leigh, West Pennant Hills.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

I know many people suffered huge loss of property, and some the loss of loved ones, but I couldn't help laughing at that. Bill Leigh has a wicked sense of humor

just booked to go to airlie beach to help out at my sisters place to tidy up.
they are out of town on acreage, the house is fine cause bro in law bolted everything down and exceeded building code, the house backs up to a hill which may have helped, surrounded by trees, not anymore ... all shredded and quite a few knocked over.
so i'm glamping for the week as they have no power only a small generator.
still i'll get fed and have a bed :D

Good on you,i have some friends up that way, their main problem at the moment is snakes, hundreds of the things which makes cleaning up that much harder.

Snakes yikes ... might have a bed with uninvited guests!!!
Now that will make Dughee's glamping a little more interesting
......... I look forward to the installments!
Maybe pack some bottled water into the suitcase for the trip

duggee27

Yikes is not the adjective I would use !!
Bro in law did not mention this , he's used to it also might have a shotty at hand
