Quote from: 'interest' pid='106373' dateline='1488946198'The black economy accounts for 1.5 per cent of GDP, given many cash payments are untaxed.

Jeez.. that wouldn't even pay for politicians' junkets, helicopter flights and living away from home allowance scams!

If they REALLY wanted to fix the problems, they'd stop giving free money away to the richest scumbags and start making them pull their weight instead of going after the most vulnerable every single time.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...:diablo:

I must be living in the Slow Lane as it is very rare that I get a $100 note from the Bank , It is $50 every time here.
And as for Paying cash to avoid the GST I will do it whenever the opportunity arises as I didn't vote for that tosser that once said "There will never ever be a GST" and then put it into place as soon as he was elected. :ok:

Are you sure it wasn't only a non-core promise?

I'd certainly like to core some of these bastards. I've been practicing on Apples, and I think I've got the technique down pat. :diablo:

Now that you've mastered the small apple corer it might be time to step up as I think you'll need something like this :ok: :mocking:

Quote from: 'notcb' pid='106376' dateline='1488954579'I wonder how many of these $100 notes are tied up with banknote collectors?  Especially the first and last prefixes, grey ghosts and the 1996 test note series?
Well if we follow the same pattern of wild and unfounded assumptions like the government is doing, it is potentially 300 million of them.

It's such garbage with respect to the "taxes" issue. Removing the hundred dollar note will result in a cash based income suddenly lodging a BAS statement. Got it.

I worked for 12 years in TABs around Sydney.
Lotsa $100 notes at play there. But they are in, out, in, out all day long.

Though gambling is a sure fire way to pay the government a high rate of taxation with each bet, and a potential to pay 100%

Never underestimate the power of human laziness and stupidity.

Back in 1974, when we used ASR-33 TeleTypes to communicate with our mainframe, some bored student leant on the Control, Break and Repeat keys while waiting for a response. The string of interrupts this generated caused the mainframe to crash and burn horribly.

Of course, being a responsible member of society, he immediately informed the computer centre management. Sorry, I mean he told all his fellow students. Who of course tried it themselves. By the end of the day, it was impossible to keep the machine running for more than a few minutes, so they took the drastic step of disconnecting all terminals pending a fix.

The fix was to disable the Repeat key. Of course you could still hold down the Control key and just keep hitting Break until it crashed, but the problem immediately went away and never returned.

Laziness rulz, you see?

Quote from: 'interest' pid='106356' dateline='1488927002'There are fake $100 dollar notes circulating in Melbourne,
They are such a high quality that the only major flaw is that they all have the same serial number.
The AFP are considering to withdraw all $100 notes from circulation.
Has anyone been busted yet ?

OMG that is soooo old, I am having trouble imaging such prehistoric devices were ever used.
