Fiji coins anyone?

Making another trip to Fiji this week -back home toward the end of the month.
Happy to take requests if anyone wants me to look out for any specific coins or notes. I will, as usual, be checking our change and bringing back an assortment of good, recent year coins.
I intend to visit the Reserve Bank to check out what is available and would be happy to make purchases if you want anything. Unfortunately this section of the website is very rarely updated so what is listed may not accurately reflect what is actually available. Currently FJD$1.00 is AUD$0.68.
Hopefully the new blue, Fiji Sevens 50¢ coin will be available -announced to be release this month but "Fiji Time" is notoriously fickle.

Not sure if he'll get your email Nevol because he's internet is down and he's waiting for a new modem so he can get the new NBN. Yes, I'm back. A couple of rainy days but mostly sunny days with a shower or two overnight and nice onshore breeze most of the time -we had a beachfront (15m from the white, sandy beach) unit. Very nice sitting out on the forecourt in the afternoon with nibbles and a cold Fiji Bitter (or glass of wine if preferred or a G&T or a JW black Label; you get the picture :yahoo:).

Not much luck with noodling our change. Did get several of the 2013 50 Cents Iliesa Delana coins and my friend that promised to keep an eye out for me also had some for me. So, if you would like one you know what to do -contact me (unless you are ausjack and already on my list! :ok:).
Otherwise nothing more recent than 2014 but I did keep some higher grade ones of various dates and denominations and happy to send some on to forum members on request.

They weren't able to help you because this particular coin wasn't made. There were production problems. Instead, they made a ''regular'' 50¢ commemorative circulation coin (mintage 1.000.000) and a $7 commemorative circulation banknote (2.000.000), released into circulation beginning April 21, 2017

Thanks for that. I will have to chase them up. If I can't get any sense from them by email (nothing on their website for collectible coins) I will ask a local friend to call in and enquire in person.
