Hm... My list has 50, the extra one may be the 46.S, or the 21*.
There are 49 including the 46P and the 21* but if you include the patterns of 1918, 19, 20*, 37 and 45 there are 54. So does anyone have a complete set?
Edit to add: How rude of me, welcome to the forum.

Sorry, I was forgetting to take 1 off for the top line in Excel. Duh!!!

No worries, I always add a column with the count. Sometimes I use a formula such as = Row() - 1.

:good:

I have a couple of shilling sets still in dansco albums and a set in one of my pre decimals album.
None of them are graded and probably don't warrant the cost/effort but they are nice little coins and they were widely used in commerce that is why it is "tough" to find nice uncirculated coins for a collection.
I also have a few of the PNG Shillings and I really like the design and the hole in them :)

After you have been here for a while I have no doubt that the members here will be able to help "kick start" your Aussie shillings collection off :ok:

It would probably help if you complete your profile with at least the basics.

Will do thanks

Quote from: 'ausproofs' pid='97857' dateline='1473751988'Welcome to the forum Tony.. I predominantly collect PCGS graded pre-decimal coins. I do have some raw shillings as well... do your post count and we can talk swapping coins.. until then fireaway your questions and comments.

Thanks will do, have to get my 50 posts up first

A good way to do that is to leave 'View Today's Posts' permanently open in a tab and refresh it a couple of times a day. Then hop into any thread that catches your eye (use the green arrow to find the latest comment you haven't read), and chip in with something you may have to add to the discussion.

Everyone has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and even the silly threads are often good places to share it.

Why not use =counta(XX:YY)

The above only counts filled squares.

The counta function returns a total which is fine if that is all that is required. I was attempting to provide an alternative to using the row numbers indicate a running tally as displayed in my list above.

I tend to put item numbers on every line anyway.

1
2
...grab the handle on the bottom right and drag down...
1234
1235

Of course, I got in this habit when dealing with blocks of numbers that didn't start at '1'... ;)

That will also work, with Excel there are usually several ways to achieve a given task. With my method if you insert another row somewhere in the middle the count does not get out of whack.

Edit: if you don't want to start the count at 1 you can add a different number to the row() function.

Second edit to remove the triple reply.

What's with the triple replies? :dodgy:

My comment was so good that I felt I had to say it thrice. Actually I have no idea, might have had something to do with it being 1/4 to 2 in the morning and using my iPad while half asleep.
