many in a 10kg lot

My experience is they stuck with the last of the overdate Dies, the one with the tip of 2 showing, but no spike or back of the 2 showing, for some time, they are plentiful but still hard  to find in F or better.
The first overdate Die with the top of the 2 showing, like in the Rennik Books eg,is scarce,in 50 years i've found 2.The first one i swapped for a Half-Sovereign,my thinking at the time was i would get another one but regretted it ever since as they just do not exist.
is this what you mean basil?

That one is a very good impression of the (lackadaisical) alteration to the die. I could probably even pick it without my glasses on (in a bright light).
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

it is a great photo for sure!
all 3 points of the variety

this snap is from the coin blogg - Mark and Kaths'
this coin has the spike into the bottom bowl (just faint in the photo) so I think Serials' coin is still the 1933/32 overdate with the spike into bottom bowl, tip of the two peeking and the curve of the 2 showing on the top bowl (? bowl - cuurve of the 3 anyways)
I am not entirely what variety Basil is referring to

Yeah, close,i think that's an eg of their second go at it,the first one is even more pronounced but very similar to your Coin. This is the only early mint overdate i have now but the first attempt has even more of the top loop of the 2 showing under the 3.

this is the whole coin,
I am happy with it, intend to get it slabbed, its one of the most obvious overdates I have seen

ausjack

Around the EF45 mark but might be lucky and get AU50 but I doubt it but still a nice coin.

Basil

Yeah, nice Coin, hard to find the early mint ones in F-Au grades.

A couple more interesting coins from a bulklot . One with letter doubling and one
with an interesting metal peel

Agreed that there are some great finds through these bulk lots. It's always difficult to confirm whether any bulk lots are truly untouched bulk lots. If you can find a good source, then well done.

Postage is now very expensive, but there is hours of enjoyment in a 10kg bag which makes it worthwhile.

As the varieties market seems to keep expanding, even previously scanned bulk lots may hold some sleeping varieties.

That is so true and I am reluctant to sell the sorted coin bulk for fear that I have
missed a variety coin in there somewhere. One lot I recently bought had apparently been searched but I ended up finding overdates and other coins which far outweighed the value of the original price paid for the bulk

I'm toying with the same notion. I currently have no time to sift through the bulk lots, but in my quest to de-clutter I am considering selling them. However, I'm likely to have time in the future (ie. when kids grow up) and it's going to be harder to get these back. The only thing I really need to determine is the best way to store them for a few years. Does vac-pack work? I'm sure Fulvio has an opinion on this.
