I am not a big error collector But I do appreciate a true Mint error and more importantly "How" the particular errors were created accidentally.
These Mint Sport double sided coins and other "Error" coins that were deliberately created inside the Mint hold absolutely NO appeal or interest  for Me personally.
I think of them as Shed Jobs that are created in a better Shed :ok:

What about all the errors that are for sale in the next Noble auction. Several 1975 decimal coins which are either double tails or double heads. Also a tall ships 50c struck on a 10c flan, a rams head 50c struck on a 10c flan and a millennium 50c struck on a 20c flan!

I think that  it was the quantity that raises suspicion.  Most respectable dealers would report a large number to the police and they'd perhaps be confiscated

I wonder if the same person submitted all those 'errors'.  

Possibly the same ex RAM employee with the Double headed 5c.

Wrong planchets sneak through fairly regularly, because to the factory workers producing them, they're just barrels of metal, and they're not going to lose any sleep over the odd planchet going into the wrong drum.

Its really only the things that can't be accidentally produced that are a problem. Sure, you could strike and steal a pile of mules, but there would be no way to tell they were dodgy rather than genuine errors.
