Well, I went to my specialist today for a post op checkover.

The preliminary work done by the assistants showed pretty good results sight wise, then I saw my specialist .....

I could tell by his quietness and concentration whilst checking it out that there was something wrong. He stood and broke the news that my new lense and my iris are playing quite an overlap game that they are not meant to play. It was nice to see that he made sure that all his assistants got to check it out as apparently it doesn't happen all that often. (I think I now have a reputation there as the bloke with the out of the ordinary problems).

So, I'm off for surgery to hopefully fix the problem next Tuesday. This time he is going to do it locally rather than sending me to Sydney Eye Hospital for another bash at it.

Eye sight wise it's really good so far, but the lense has to be behind the iris, so it's an alignment operation. (It's all gone a bit squew wiff).

Just so thankful that he pushed me into his operating schedule so quickly. Fingers crossed.

well
good luck with the wheel alignment
mine don't usually take too long

I expect that you should be up and ad ém in no time Uni

but seriously, all the best for the procedure

I have started my long service leave so I am staying away from my hospital .... good places to avoid if you can , if I don't say so myself!

Hope it all goes well on Tuesday Uni. It must seem a little strange that the eyesight had improved significantly as a result of the op but still that issue to be fixed.

Good luck with the adjustment on Tuesday, I hope it all works out well for you. :friends:

Good luck with it all uni. After the final adjustment we can look forward to some laser like noodling results?

Strange is definately the word Pedro! I'm still apparently looking through the lense but the edge of it is sticking out over the top of the iris instead of being neatly tucked away behind it. My specialist said he'd only ever seen it a couple of times. He said this operation wouldn't be improving my eyesight at all as it's, to quote, "bloody great". He's hoping that it hasn't had too much time to bond where it is and they've added two dilating drops to my drop list in the hope that opening the iris more over the next few days might allow the lense to go back where it's meant to be. I had noticed that at times my vision was a little foggy and had been putting that down to the drops, gas bubble or post op gunk in there, so perhaps this alignment could be the cause.

Anyway I thought it was all rather interesting, thanks all for the well wishes!!

edit: I didn't spell dilate properly, but missed it. (I think I missed skew yesterday too ..... it is marvelous how the left eye doesn't pick up errors and at times actually allows you to type a similar though incorrect word).

PS: Thanks Basil (below)
