Both halves are graded and mounted side by side in a dual slab.

Two Bob coin collector.

Thanks, :) appreciate all the help and info.

Yes you have to have a really good error to worry about getting it graded other wise ya gonna do ya arse so keep thinkin G :winkextra: Say an error is only worth $50 and you get it slabbed the chances are your not going to get much more if it's graded unless it grades really high and it has to be a ball tearer to do that so unless it's to protect the coin for your collection it's not really worth it. If your finding the errors it's a bit more feasible but still don't expect to make a killin. Here's my 79 double bar and I was hoping it would get MS66 but it wasn't to be :( I got done as a normal coin because of the extra cost http://www.pcgs.com/cert/32404983 and here's one Eric's had for sale for a while now http://www.drakesterling.com/coins-for-sale/products/1979-double-bar-fifty-cent

Geez AJ, your MS65 coin looks a hell of a lot better than the MS66 in the link, especially the obverse.

It begs the question ......... are you smarter than the 5th grader? (or the first and second in this instance).

Totally understand what your saying, there, AJ. Still getting a feel for all this. This is the one I was thinking of a nice doubleclipped, double bar 79 50 cent, sort of don't see them everyday.

WOW!!!!

Top class example G!!!! :good:

Maybe this 66 clipped, no SD, as well,

This was on the short list as well, as a possibility. 2c piece.

Didn't see you sneak in, there, Uni, thanks. :)

I saw AJ's coin "In Hand" before it was sent to PCGS to be graded and it looked to be an easy MS66 to me at the time.
I think that the lower value coins Don't get the same scrutiny and attention that the higher value coins do when they are graded and that is why we tend to get these discrepancy's and mistakes with these.

This is the one that got me rethinking about slabs.

 yes I can't work PCGS out but I think that's the way they want it.

:swoon: what a ripper of a coin G :yahoo:  it might be worth getting done if you found it other wise I'd only get it done to protect it in my collection. You could always give it to me so I don't have to hurt ya

Yes I'd get them done and especially the wavy, top coins mate :good:

If I went the slab way it would be to preserve more than anything, never sold a coin in my life as yet. :) Anyway appreciate the info and help, it's been a great discussion.

Thanks mate. Thinking of doing the trip to Brissy again this year.

Ok :),thanks Uni.  I was doing a bit of a cleanup and out, and got me thinking about the slabs etc. Got a folder with some classics put aside, more thinking, what would you get slabbed and what wouldn't you. Checked out the pop reports etc, pictures helped alot, both predecimal and decimal, then was watching on some pages in fb and there were slabbed coins you couldn't give away and got me thinking even more, what made you want to get that slabbed, and the thought process went ballistic from there. Predecimal varieties, with the high grade varieties of auto's, as an example, I have a majority but not the quality. Happy with that though. :) although may have a couple that are ok. :) The error album got me thinking even more,  then there were the combined error/varieties. :) Overthinking can hurt :)

Actually I have never seen one of those any day.
