I have just been outside, 2010 hours, and cloud cover in Melbourne.

Maybe we'll miss it unless the cloud clears in the meantime.

Just popped outside about 5 minutes ago and saw the start of the eclipse.   Bottom right of the moon, about 5 o'clock position.

Now can't see a damn thing, clouds.

A few minutes ago, the moon surface was in total shadow of an eclipse.   Time approx. 2348 hours.

The moon is reflecting a reddish brown colour as the clouds break up.

The cloud cover in Sydney ruined any hope of a better viewing other than a small glimpse at about 11.15pm.
