I have been involved with a big diesel years ago that had catwalks to get around for servicing. But this one makes it look like a toy.

Richard Hammond (Top Gear) is selling of some of his vehicle collection to finance a classic car restoration business he is setting up. Some nice gear there that should provide decent start up capital. I won't be bidding for good reason; hint, think "pecuniary".

He certainly collected some great cars & bikes.I must be hopelessly out of date with the estimated prices so interesting to see what they sell for.
The replica D-type & Ford GT prices seem way over the top compared to a few years ago.

On the subject of replica's that Torana A9X that sold for nearly a million A$ a few weeks back must count as a replica surely,lighweight reinforced shell from GMH that was built up by John Sheppard in his HDT workshop.
I'm sure the A9X came off the GMH assembly line complete.
Even the 6 lightweight E-Type Jags that were built by the factory a few years back would be regarded  as 'replica's' according to one of the UK Motoring organisations.

That E type is arguable. The article says "Jaguar was only interested in recreating the six new cars if they were absolutely identical to the original in design, construction, and materials." So only way to tell it from a genuine original would hypothetically be from engine/chassis numbers and build plate. I would be surprised though if all materials are "absolutely identical to the original". Asbestos brake pads anyone?

I am inclined to say "replica" but a very good one.

My cousin used to own an original E Type Jag and took my dad for a ride early morning through Melbourne's CBD (MANY years back) doing 80 mph. He might have made it into second or third gear. I wonder how many times he got booked.

What a coincidence! I just happen to have one of those sitting here. Hasn't been run for a while but just needs a new battery to be up and running.
