I think PMD as it is incuse, not raised and there is quite a bit of flattening of the rim around that area.

its the shape of the denticles above the V that appear raised to me, what i see on my screen when using the microscope is not coming through in the pics real well, but there do appear to be several small marks that have some sort of shape to them that appear to be raised from the fields if only a fraction. i will try again this afternoon to get pics with normal light to see if they show better or a scan.
i picked up 18 of them for $30 so no loss if its nothing , plus 2 other have die cracks.

third purchase from the shop now and this time as i was leaving he was kind enough to give me a 1933 nz half crown, only 2m minted from my quick check last night in vg-f maybe a little better by a smidgin.
