I think The main reason these rolls have value at the moment is because people are cracking them open in the search for a MS68 or better coin.
The best graded so far is MS67 and there are 20 of them followed by MS66=56, MS65=40, and MS64=6.
All up 122 of these coins have been graded so far which is a huge number if you look at the rest of the populations. :ok:

Quote from: 'runway' pid='77348' dateline='1439040545'I believe the UNC 2014 MOR will become a $100+++ coin considering the 2000 MOR in UNC sells for $50 on eBay with mintage

Not even close SULLA sorry but you're dreaming mate.:dodgy:

I like dreaming!
Time will tell.

SULLA you might like to check out the mintage of the 2007 MOR $1 and how much they are selling for

The 2007 MOR does seem to be a strange one Runway. Doesn't sell near 2000 MOR prices but has a significantly lower mintage, haven't been able to work that one out.

I have deleted some posts from this thread because it was degenerating into stupid bickering.

Sulla, I think we all understand you have lots of these rolls and you have and optimistic outlook for them.  I think all members here would happily acknowledge that fact if you stopped posting about it.  Over.  And Over. And Over.

And other members I'd appreciate it if you didn't post in this thread if there's yet another "2014 MOR rolls are the bomb" post in this thread and just report it so I can deal with it.

Mintages now out and significantly larger numbers produced than was originally rumoured. Now a total of 6.2m.

Prices had already come off from their peaks (averaging approx $180 per roll) and were trending quite quickly downwards into the $130s (numbers got out?). While numbers are still not overly large where prices go from here is anyone's guess.

Email from RAMINT MN 14/07/14

"Thanks for your call earlier. As discussed on the phone, I can confirm that the Royal Australian Mint rolled the 2014 $1 Mob of Roos Coin in-house. There isn't an official mintage of the rolled $1 coins. There are approximately 1 million 2014 $1 'mob of roos' circulating coins being produced."

Latest Annual Report states 5.2m

Have called the CEO RAMINT to confirm. Will get back to me.

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!

Publishing a release of 1M and then releasing 5.2M??!!

EDIT

2014 Annual Report states 1m
2015 Annual Report states 5.2M
TOTAL 6.2M
For a coin originally publicised as having a mintage of 1M!
WTF?

Will advise more once I hear from CEO.

I am shocked that RAMINT can do this!

Pedro, this was not a rumour.

It was publicity from RAMINT!

One million 2014 MOR to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original release.

I have raised this issue with the CEO of RAMINT and he will get back to me.

UNF******BELIEVABLE!!!

markn

While I find it inexcusable that the RAM could possibly mint 5 times the amount of these coins that they said in writing they would I wouldn't actually be surprised if they did.  If it turns out to be true those who speculated heavily could do worse than learn a lesson or two from the Dutch Tulip bubble and be a little more conservative in the future.

IMHO it's probably a typo in the report anyway.

Call from RAMINT has confirmed that that it was typo and the number should be 52K not 5.2M.
So total mintage for 2014 MOR is now confirmed as being 1,052,000 coins.

This will be confirmed on RAMINT web site soon according to my source.

Don't understand how they can make such an error in an Annual Report.
This is an Annual Report presented to the AU Parliament which then makes it a false report!

MMM! Methinks something fishy smelling here!!
Someone must be held accountable.

I have requested a wriitten response confirming this from RAMINT. As soon as I receive this response I will post it here!

SULLA

I believe that is is a most serious issue and that an adjustment will have to be made in the AU Parliament Hansard to correct this error!
This Forum must be congratulated for pouncing upon such an error!

Pedro

Amazing what a difference the placement of a decimal point can make!
