AJ wants more "community discussion so, his wish is my command;
•Richard Feynman Arguably the foremost theoretical physicist of all time -but also a generalist. Bongos.
•Buckminster Fuller He thought "outside the square" literally, and acted on his thoughts.
•Helen Keller Disabled?...I think not!

Who has inspired you?
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

My parents.   They guided me but did not force me to anything I didn't want to do.   They encouraged me in anything I wanted to do.   I got disciplined when I needed to be disciplined.

As a result, I am impressed as to what I have become and achieved in my 66 years to date without breaking any major law or getting caught.

I like your ending comment, ".....or getting caught." Do you want to elicitate on that?

I've posted about Dr Hazelton before, he'd be my hero on a personal level.

Quote from: 'Unicorn' pid='20438' dateline='1372994150'All this talk of RAAMC, Weary Dunlop and the like is bringing back one of the highlights of my life. From 1988 through to 1994 I had the pleasure of working closely with Dr (Major) Alan Hazelton. Dr H would have to be number one on my personal mentor and inspiration list. I am so proud to have known him and love to recall the many stories he shared with me on our travels.

A couple of pieces:

On a worldly level a couple in my hero list.

Nikola Tesla

Yes, we owe much more to Tesla for our electricity distribution than we do to Edison -I suspect Edison was better at publicity than Tesla.

Luckily I haven't been caught either
It\'s not about who you know it\'s about what you know

To elaborate:   Speeding in a 60 zone, going through a red light, not stopping at stop signs, pinching an apple or two, not paying for a bus/train fare.

As I said, trivial things and thank goodness no majors.

The only time I got caught was 46 years ago when I said I do........

I would say Marie Curie is my top pick... One of the cleverest scientist to walk the planet winning two Nobel prizes in two different fields....

She could have earned millions if not billions from her research however chose not to do it to make world a better place...

Sir Tim Berners-Lee has to be a hero of every person using this forum. He invented the world wide web and chose not to profit from it (he could have been richer than Jobs and Gates combined had he gone down the path of charging us).
