This is not new!  Homer Simpson came up with the idea of a $1 Trillion note some time ago.  It seems that US fiscal policy mimics the real life episodes of the Simpson family.

It's kinda good, & kinda bad, that you have to wait until June to be able to buy this year's uncirculated coin sets from the US Mint.
Not like our guys that are selling next years issue's two months before the end of the year.
There's just something a bit funny about buying next years coins this year, just seems a bit odd to me.
just my opinion.

No I think it's a bit odd as well and this might explain how we end up with error sets, the best one's are the one with different years in them..what are they on down there :scratch_one-s_head:

Eg from rennik's,
just UNC sets with date errors
86 with 85 10 cent
94 baby with 93 $2 coin
2001 with 2000 $2 coin (1 known)
proof set
91 with 90 10 cent
96 with 95 5 cent
06 with 05 $1
so it's not like it has only happened once so I have to ask why..and there could be more that haven't been found yet :)

I'm a fan of the Canadian pre-decimals, but the US 3 cent coin has to be one of my favourites. It's a shame that it didn't make it into full circulation.

I have started to collect the Barber Liberty head quarter dollars. Nice looking coin and not too expensive to develop a good type set.

I think I registered for this site last October. I'll be here regularly now. I'm in the U S and started to collect Canadian coins many, many snows ago when my buddies always exclaimed, "Why do you collect THAT stuff?" It's evident now. To me the Canadian 1967 P L (it's called 'Proof Like') set is one of the greatest sets ever minted with the $1-Goose, 50c-Wolf, 25c-Bobcat, 10c-Mackeral, 5c-Rabbit, and the cent-Dove.....a little bit of water, land, and air.

:welcome: Goose, Have always admired the Canadian coins and hope to collect a few in the future.! Hope to see some pics of some.!! Cheers.!

I have a 1965 PL set from Canada, that was sent to me from a guy named Goose. I'm guessing you are the same Goose. Welcome aboard mate.

Welcome Goose.  :wavemulticolor:

Wasn't it a great idea for the mods to actually email people when their registration was activated  Goose you've been good-to-go for months, my apologies you were never told.
