Robbiegal
the most frustrating thing is that people are buying into it.
at some point police will be involved I reckon.

As for my dream coin?
A business strike 1923 1/2d with underlying luster and red through the legends...doesnt even have to be unc, gEF / aUNC would be fine

My choice would easily be the outstanding looking proof 1927 Canberra Florin. One day.[attachment=2805]

I'd love to own a proof Gothic crown.

Excuse my ignorance, how much would some have to pay to get one ?

Looking at Heritage you could get an impaired (PR61-62) for $5000-$10,000.  A nice one (PR66-67) could be $30,000.

Why is it that coin design reached a peak around that time that has never been equalled? As nice as the Gothic Crown was I think that Una and the Lion is even more beautiful. William Wyon was the best of the best.

ausjack

well my dream coin isn't like you might think but then again, I want a 3 tone coin with "adavance the wonderful nation of  ausjack, the supreme ruler" on one side and of course my very pretty effigy on the other AND solid gold of course..am I dreaming :laugh2:

Well you's didn't say they had to be a real coin but I'll never have the money for my dream coins but still nice to dream :)

Yes I must admit very nice indeed, so why is it that they actually look more 3d/life like than coins of today with all their high-tech :dodgy:
