I wasn't going to enter the ballot, as I don't collect NCLT, but I mentioned the coin at the dinner table last night and the wife reckons I should enter, as it might be a good investment. Yesss!
I'm in the ballot now.
Steve

OFEC count = 258

Nevol

Me too, even though NCLT's not my cup of tea.

It doesn't appear to warrant a customer number for entry so what's stopping Dad, Mum, all 6 kids, the cat and 4 budgies from entering?

disclaimer: I don't have 6 kids, no cat and no budgies.

Have all the 100 names been checked? Seems like the names are "official" names and not their real names; who ever knew of Sir Roden Cutler as Arthur Cutler?

Pedro

He was Arthur Roden Cutler so possibly they have used they his first Christian name as he enlisted rather than his preferred Christian name.

I am not quite sure but I seem to recognise a couple of the faces in the pic and they have a REAL piece of Bronze so I don't think they are particularly worried about fingering up a piece if RAM Grannybait :ok:

I am pretty sure that the other 2 young blokes in the middle are VC recipients as well.

A lot of courage there:

Ben Roberts-Smith VC MG http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Roberts-Smith
Keith Payne VC  OAM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Payne
Daniel Keighran VC  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Keighran
Mint employee Ross MacDiarmid
Mark Donaldson VC  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Donaldson
Unk Mint employee
Roberts-Smith, Keighran and Donaldson are the 3 living recipients of the Victoria Cross for Australia.  The other recipient Corporal Cameron Stewart Baird VC MG received his, I believe, posthumously.

I'm not sure if Keith Payne is the only other surviving recipient of the VC.  He received his for action in the Vietnam war and comes from Ingham NQ.

I don't think these are the sort of people to seek attention by participating in the RAM promotion.  The $100 cost is a lot more than previous releases so I hope that a portion of the profit will be going towards assisting returned servicemen and/or their families hence why the VC recipients were prepared to provide their time.
