$5K
wow

I guess it is a 'mule' as it wasn't officially minted or something like that
personally I think it is nothing special and i'd sell a set if I had one too

Seller is calling a 2005 proof MOR a "Mule"

There was a huge amount of discussion back in 2006 regarding wether this should be called a mule or not.
As far as my recollection goes those of us who had a set of these wanted to call it a mule & those without a set did not believe it was a mule.
I think it still goes that way some will say yes it's a mule while others will say no it's not.
The beat goes on.
P.S I sold my set to a gentleman up in the Northern Territory for $5,000 (thank you Sir) so you can now call it what you want.

Not quite. I have a set with a  2005 MOR proof dollar and I do not consider it a mule; just an example of a coin that is rare in proof

In proof form the official 2005 $1 was Dancing Man
A 2005 proof $1 MOR is rare and when these Proof Sets were first discovered $2000 was asking price

As these were not included in the Baby Proof sets I am now thinking that they are indeed a Mule.
RAM must have minted quite a few of them by mistake as the even show up in the 2006 Proof sets :ok:

I wonder if there are more stashed away on some dusty shelf at the Mint .

I don't think they keep examples of mistakes like this.

Regardless of definition there's only 40 known examples.
I haven't seen a PCGS slab coin either

I think perhaps Drake Sterling had a 2005 MOR proof slabbed.

Thanks that surprises me,I appreciate slabs but I think in this case I'd prefer the proof set intact
