Super Lotto Draw? What's the amount of the Lotto...... Peanuts no doubt. In the U S there is some Lotto going where the 'Prize' is over 1/2 BILLION....$585 Million. I think the drawing is tomorrow (Tue- 12-17-13) The odds of winning-258 million to one. Also I heard you'd have better odds of scoring 2 consecutive holes in one or better odds of getting hit by an asteroid. My thoughts? I might bet against 3-2 odds, but not against 258,000,000 to one odds.

Oh come on, thirty million dollars is not peanuts.  The odds are against you winning, but somebody will win.  I would get in the draw if I could, it sounds like a fun idea, I've done it in my office when I was working many a time, but I can't make direct deposits to Australian accounts, and there are surely to be tax consequences if I were to receive any part of the winnings, assuming they could be paid out to a foreigner.
Edited to add that I'm not soliciting anyone to suggest a way to overcome these obstacles.

John, anytime you want to buy a ticket, just let me know.
You can transfer money to my Paypal and I will buy a ticket for you.
We don't pay tax on winnings over here, but I'm not sure what happens
about transfering the winnings to the U.S.

Goose, we just had a lotto draw tonight for $70 million. Per head of population that is bigger that your half billion lotto. Only one winner tonight and it wasn't me. :(

The big drawing is tonight (Your Wednesday). It's estimated at $586 million. IF one person wins it, they can take an instant payoff of $316 million. Why get involved if the guv'ments (Fed, State, and local) take 46% ($270 Million) of it?

If there is no winner tonight, the next drawing is next Tuesday, Christmas eve, and the estimated winnings is expected to exceed $1 BILLION.......minus the 46% of course. It seems like the phrase of "A fool and his money are soon parted" is true. I'm not against gambling, I bet a buck ($1) or two now and then.

You only have to win 'once'.!

Remember the guy who won the top prize on a scratchie at Hampton Park a few years ago? TV news crews wanted a re-enactment, so they all trotted down to the agency, he bought another one and scratched it on camera...

And won again! $25,000, IIRC.

It's approaching 6:45 PM here (U S) on Tuesday, Dec 17, 2013 and approaching 11:45 AM on Wed, 12-18-2013 in Sydney (and 3:45 AM in Perth) and this lottery hasn't been drawn yet. It's up to $635 Million. The radio claimed that this is a factual statistic.....If you drive 1/2 mile (3 km) to buy a lottery ticket for this this lottery, you have a better chance of dying in an auto accident than winning the lottery.

Goose .... Fulvio only knows that as it's the depth indicator mark in his money bin!
