Someone in retail told me once not to engage with crazy people when they came into a shop.  This mainly meant not meeting their eyes in conversation because if you looked them in the eyes they took this as confirmation that you were interested in what they were saying.  I'd suggest that you responding to shanew's threads is the internet equivalent of staring deeply and soulfully into a crazy person's eyes.

Hmmm.. I had this thread open while I went and did other stuff... came back, closed it, hit today's posts, and it disappeared! Spent a while looking before finding it and realising someone gave it a bit of a prune.. with a chainsaw!

Why "Prune " this thread, After all I created it so that NO discussion was  OFF topic .
How on earth can anything posted in this particular thread be OFF topic when this is the place to answer off topic questions in the main threads and not bog them down .
I imagine that it was a administrate stuff up and not a deliberate "Snip"
After all it IS in the "Chin Wag" section and has nothing to do with serious numismatic debate/Discussion  or is anything taken seriously in this thread anyway.
To me it is simply a place to answer off topic questions in the main forum :ok:

That was my bad.  I found posts here that seemed to be duplicated elsewhere.  I thought they'd be more missed elsewhere so I nuked these ones.  Apologies to all concerned if I have offended.

Blame that silly youngster Troutski. He hasn't got the hang of decluttering the place, so he posts long winded attributions and says he's coming over here to reply. Which leaves a trail of duplicates of course.

Still, could be worse.. like when people don't trim pictures off their attributions. That one really gets my goat, it do... :diablo:

I cannot find the Bullion thread so I will just post this in here as It is impossible to be "Off Topic" here :)

OK
Bullion, Grannybait Vs. Numismatic coins

Grannybait coins sometimes But rarely increase in value and Bullion coins value is driven by the paper markets, Numismatic coins DO tend to increase in value at a better rate that bullion coins.

Here is an example of 2 coins one is Grannybait Stirling silver .
Issue price $14 Bullion value $12.38 Market value about $15

The other can still be found in circulation.
Issue price 50 cents bullion value "Bugger all" Market value $25-$30

Which is why I've been (almost) granny-bait-free for years now. I just wish I could get back the big wad of cash I sank into that junk way back when... :(

Anybody watch The Last Leg? Gotta love Adam Hills' rants.. His message to the dick who posted a pic of a mum breastfeeding on Failbook, calling her a tramp, was absolutely classic! :yahoo:
