Meh. Yanks are real good at low-tech heavy-duty "big iron" industrial design. Harleys, Kirby vacuums, Kenworth trucks, Cadillacs, etc.

Forget the wank value of owning any of these, and clearly there are much, much better, more civilised, high-tech and ultra-reliable alternatives from other parts of the world.

I would never have swapped my Suzy GS-850 for a Harley, for example.

it's all a matter of personal taste
ps we has a suzi 650 'waterbus' many many many moons ago
loved that bike and did thousands of miles on it - very long inland & coastal trips away with the tent and all that - it was fantastic - now, i just don't even know how i did it - that is youth for ya!!

The Suzuki 'waterbottles' were a great bike and restored examples pull in some good money.!!

I'm also a Suzuki man.  My current ride:

You don't get too old to ride but the aches come a bit more frequently and painfully.  Just have to remember that you can't do now what you used to do when you were 20.

My wife still goes pillion and it only took her 40 years to learn not to try and stand the bike up when I'm leaning it into a corner.  She's even asking why I don't trade it in for a Harley but that's a bit hard to justify.  A Triumph cruiser maybe.......
