sorry mate but no gods around here, few legends tho and if that's the case you should have put a capital "N" in Ninlil as she was the one that was raped by him :blum3:

These sets look outstanding "in hand" I have to say that this is one of the best decimal proof sets produced by the mint :good:

I have many "favorites" in my 50 cent collection.
This is just one of them.

The circulation 2001 CoF Qld 20c coins do come with cuds on the Rev, mainly in the footprints and shoeprints.  I put up a heap of images for them and all the 2001 CoF 20c errors on ACBO, and many will probably remember them.  I'll start a new thread and re-post the images, as well as some for the 50c CoF errors as well.

Maybe it's just me but, Queenslander as I am, I still find the Queensland 2001 CoF coin the least attractive of all the states. It just doesn't say "Queensland" to me.

For my favourite: I know its Perth Mint, I know it's NCLT, I know it's derivative (all things which usually turn me off a coin design)... but I still like the Meszaros 2009 "pattern":

Quote from: 'MattGold' pid='15766' dateline='1369136069'I never really took any notice of 2001 20 cents until your photo Robbiegal, it's a nice wavy 2 lol

Does the 2 in 2001 have a CUD or is it just me?

Matt

here you go Matt
I think it's both (?) a ding and cuds??
I dunno
I'll leave that call to the decimal guys
here's some pics that I just took, as I got curious about your comment
I hope thay are helpful
cheers & nites ,  rob

I'm no pro but it does look like both to me as well.

Hi Nevol
Do you reckon that 20c has ''cuds''?
cheers rob

Well, no not really.  To me it looks like the 2 has taken a decent hit, but I can't imagine what from.  It's a proof isn't it?  I thought proofs were handled quite a bit differently from other coins and that they would be protected from taking hits. :dontknow:

But, hey, I'm no expert, so please don't be discouraged by what I have to say, it's just one person's opinion. :friends:

not a proof
mine is the everyday uncs - well that it what I paid for

so I would guess the general consensus is most likely that it's your classic - bag mark / ding

I am impressed that MattG saw it!

always fun to look into these curiosities

ps hummm you may not be an expert (?) but gee you sure know a lot about the decimal errors!!

Nevol

Ah, Ok, I got the piccies mixed up.

I thought about this for awhile. I like it because it looks old and despite that I'm from NSW. It's obviously reminiscent of the 1927 commemorative florin. Would this be just the 3rd Austalian Coin to feature a parliament house?

I agree with the love and admiration for the 2001 federation series, the representation of each state is just awesome. If I was to pick a state favourite I would have to say the design of the Northern Territory is the best.
Overall for 20 cent pieces though I'm a huge fan of the Coming Home 2005.
Just what it shows and represents is the winner for me.

Whatever the design is on a 20 cent coin The proof coins win hands down in my opinion :yahoo:
