Hi Goldie,
I sent an email to the media department of Sydney Swans, asked for product pictures and a bit of help, should get a better response than someone over the phone.
Also invited them to join the forum, who knows they might actually join, would help out with a lot of questions.

posted at the same time!

Australian Coins:   I am in the process of getting a scan of the said coin and folder from the organisation that is organizing it.   I should have the scans in a couple of days or so.

When I phoned the Swans Club in Sydney this morning, Thursday, 29/11/12 at around 10.30, nobody seemed to know what I was talking about except that the initial supply of 100 had been sold and they still had some of the three coin sets available.

I asked if a scan of the coin be be forwarded and the reply was "dah".

At least they did give the name and phone number of the melbourne based company that is organising this "special coin".

I am still trying to find an email address for the Sydney Swans Footy Club.

This release is doing my head in. My main concern is that the currency determination doesn't match the legal tender coin that the've produced as far as the the coin in the PNC goes (haven't seen this other one) . It's a small variable but still a variable all the same. The thickness per the determination is fatter than a standard coin should be and the weight variance and diameter is slightly different as well.
All standard dollars should appear in the currency determination the same or they are not a standard dollar.

Now I agree there are two dollars I need, the PNC and the Swans issue. I'm sick of chasing dollars....

PNC Coin

(a)      a stylised representation of the Australian Football League premiership cup, including:
                               (i)       the words ‘AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2012 PREMIERSHIP CUP’;
                              (ii)       an ornamental design comprising of foliage; and
(b)     the following:
                               (i)        â€˜2012 AFL PREMIERS’;
                             (ii)        â€˜ONE DOLLAR’

                               (i)        the words ‘AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2012 PREMIERSHIP CUP’;

34
Reverse
R23
As for item 19, replacing the reference in subparagraph (b)(ii) to ‘ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB’ with ‘SYDNEY SWANS’

See subparagraph Bii takes the "One dollar" on the reverse and puts it on the obverse. The "Sydney Swans" will be on the reverse.

"Obverse
Consistent with all Australian legal tender coinage, an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will appear on the obverse side of the coin together with the inscriptions ‘ELIZABETH II’, ‘AUSTRALIA 2012’, ‘. 1 DOLLAR . ’ and the initials of the designer Ian Rank-Broadley ‘IRB’."

I am therefore deciding (in my own mind anyway) that it's a non-standard dollar. ie. not needed in my collection.

I must have scared everyone off with my post above. I opened up the Wynyard Coins catalogue today and both issues can be seen.
Coin with Sydney Swans Name
I'm still not sure that the specs on the coin in that link are accurate.

I think this is going to end up the same as the $2 Rsl coin.
Badly marketed and unprofessionally cared for.
Not going to even bother with this one, especialy if it is a non standard

The "Sydney Swans" dollar was never exclusive to the Swans Club. That was a mistake from day one by the RAM. I even tried to get this corrected a few days after the first press release. The ability to order them was confirmed in November for lots of people unrelated to the Swans Club and allotment requests were in early November. I am not talking about the generic AFL Premiers coin PNC coin.

The silver coin is available on its own.

The Mint have handled this release so poorly.

Regardless, the coin imprinted with the words "Sydney Swans" is legal tender.

Is there any coin dealer on this website that has the 2011 $1 AFL Premiership Coin in a card available for sale please.   I am after two.

I am not after the coin that has the words "Sydney Swans" endorsed under the AFL Cup on the coin.

I have tried all over the place in Melbourne the last couple of days with no luck.

Please PM me if you can help.

Seems where I get them won't have the 'Sydney Swans' type available until January 28th... so many delays.

Goldseeker

Several coin dealers here in Melbourne state the delay is in the production of the packaging.......?

Several dealers are not even aware that there are two AFL coins, both alum-br $1 coins.
