Some new additions this week.

2016 Ireland 2 Euro.
100 Years of the Irish Republic.

2016 Austria 2 Euro.
200 Years of Austrian National Bank.

Plus a bundle of German 5 Pfennig coins.
Only need 20 more to complete the set from 1949 to 1996 (all mints).

very nice Steve, wish we'd do a bi-metal coin for circulation.

I agree AJ. I can't be all that expensive if Thailand can produce 10 Baht bi-metallic coins, that's about 37c.

I opened up this 1970 Brit Proof set with great care.
Looks like the damage is already done, probably when they were packaged at the Royal Mint.
You would really have to look hard to find an Australian Proof set as banged up as these.
Anyway these don't cost a fortune unlike a 1970 Australian set and I quite like the designs.
I have always felt it is a pity that we never had a Half Crown coin like most of the rest of the Commonwealth did.

They do look a lot nicer "In Hand" :ok:
My camera seems to love finding every little flaw on a coin.
I suppose I could fiddle about with the settings and lighting then edit the crap out of them to make them look "Amazing" But I can't see the point in doing that.
My Camera is my second set of "Eyes" and the way I have it set up it is unbelievably useful when it comes to grading a coin :good:

I received some beautiful Canadian coins from Kena, this week.
These were to celebrate 100 years of the poem "In Flander's Fields".

Also received some U.K. coins featuring the new Queen's Effigy.
Here's the old and the new to see the difference.

Old

New (note the different crown)

Not sure when or if we will get this design on our coins.

OK some of my last catch.
This seems like not big deal, but pay attention to:
(a) the one in top right corner - it's an NZ Royal Visit medal like this (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1953-1954-ROYAL-VISIT-NEW-ZEALAND-MEDAL-320969R651-/191865363490?hash=item2cac111c22:g:fG4AAOSwbdpWWn4b),
and
(b) the almost black one in the centre - this is a NZ 1862 Dunedin Penny token (http://www.abccoinsandtokens.com/NewZealand.KM.Tn.017.002.html or http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Zealand-1862-Penny-Token-coin-E-De-Carle-Dunedin-Very-Fine-nice-/140963088339?hash=item20d20e07d3:g:CJEAAOxyshFReczF)

Will try but I can't figure out how to shoot them best, tried macro, flash, and daylight, result is invariably pitiful.
Either there's a trick I'm missing, or just my hands grow from the wrong spot.

What camera are you using?
Some of the members here are pretty clued up on photography and can help you with the settings :good:

Canon IXUS 175 or similar (don't remember 100% but pics of it look correct)
I've googled some tips, will try new approaches today.

OK new attempt :) hope it's better now
So the ones below are NZ Royal Visit medal and a NZ 1862 Dunedin Penny token.

[attachment=3498]
Then three UK pennies, each one with a different monarch.
[attachment=3499]
[attachment=3500]

Then Fiji coins - interestingly all their pennies I've seen before were silvery, but this one is yellowish which feels unusual.

Have also some half crowns but not sure if worth posting.
