I have a collection of Canadian 50 cent coins from 1937 to the present date, with all the dates represented.
The design hasn't changed much in the last 76 years with only 2 commemorative coins being minted in that time.
The dates on the coins are when the design changes were made.

1967 coin, Howling Wolf design

1968 coin, This is now made of Nickel instead of Silver.

2002 coin this design was only for this year.

No worries, they are getting harder to get every year now that they are only available from the mint.
It took me a while but I ended up getting the  business strike the specimen strike and the silver proof coins for this year

They're all beauties Trout, thanks for posting them. From memory (or lack thereof) I think I only have a few Canadian coins. Must check and see.

The large cents are particularly nice as well, These are about the same size as our 1/2 d and are quite easy to get in good grades :good:

I really like the large cents as well. They are my favourite Canadian denomination. I have about 10 or so around the EF mark and most of them cost less than $5.

I found a Canadian 1967 gold specimen set in Max Sterns last week, minus the gold coin.  The silver coins were pretty much at melt value and they all have the nice blue toning the felt cases give them.  Here's the 50c.  The reverse is very mirror like and hard to image.

That toning on the Lizzy obverse is stunning :drooling:

Most of the silver and some of the other coins in the proof sets that are in the leather case tend to tone up as well.
Mostly a golden hue on the outer edge of the coins and sometimes on the entire coin.
