Now that the site is more visible and the "Small Town attitude" may be watered down, it may be time to implement some trading protocols .
Also a feedback thread to keep everyone above board.
I have "Personally" had a couple of trades on CCF turn to Mud and I have lost hundreds of dollars in the process (These members simply vanished after ripping me off) So I would hate that to happen to anyone here :ok:
There should be a minimum number of posts before anyone can trade or sell on this site ( This way we get to know them and will know if they are fair dinkum ).
Anyone caught out ripping members off  should be instantly and PERMENANTLY banned from site.
B&T dealers That are Members  should be able to list new issue coins so that we can keep the money in the Family ( As long as they comply with the above)
Just throwing a few ideas around, What are your thoughts

I am happy to implement some sort of post limit requirement on posters in the trade threads.  However, I am extremely hesitant to take sides in disputes that arise from trade threads.  There's a reason why eBay and Paypal have so many requirements for buyer and seller protection.  If you don't it's just I say/you say.  And we can't always side with the "established" members in disputes because we all know people do go bad when hard times hit.  How are we supposed to know what's going on in people's minds?

PPH and I will need to think about it for a bit.

I don't think the admins should be asked or expected to take sides.
Maybe something like a feedback area and people make up thier own mind?
Or maybe wait to see if there is an issue.  Things have been going pretty well so far?

The mods, PPH, and myself will come up with some rules and attach them to the for sale forum.  I've had a look around some (much) bigger coin forums and their rules are all pretty simple.  We'll come up with something similar.

AJ I was not trying to upset anyone, I am not sure how serious the "bang head" emoticon was.
My comments were based on a bunch of different things (all difficult to measure).

The "flavour" of the forum up till now has been fantastic.  Some people have been worried about some more visibility that this place exists making the forum different (and possibly worse).  I am also worried that becoming too structured and rule based might damage what we currently have.

In most things regarding the forum, I would prefer a generally "hands off" approach (which really seems to be how things have gone so far) - as long as people do not get too out of hand.

In regards to trading, I like the CCF model of "XX" number of "good" posts for a few reasons.

1.  Its a good hurdle for "bad guys" to not bother trying something dodgy and go do something else
2.  We get to see peoples personality in thier posts before they do any trades.  This is a big thing for me.  You can tell a lot about someone through their posts (eg helpful/trustworthy/nice/lazy/accurate/stupid/what they know about/etc/etc)

I dont know if it has come across in other posts, but I am actually pretty strongly against people being ripped off.

K.I.S.S. all the way!

I like the way you are thinking Mate :good:
I did put a thread up earlier something like " lack of parental guidance " or something of the sort.
The fact is the Mods are probably bored stupid with us mob because we are so well behaved (you lot at least :)  ) and we have developed a camaraderie amongst ourselves and mutual trust has developed from that.
I imagine the new members will want to be part of that and run with it :good:
I think it would be unfair to expect the Mods to decide on who is wrong on any dealings, That IMHO is not their role.
I imagine that if a new member started taking advantage of our better nature they would be condemned by the forum as a whole, It's simply what Aussies do "Look after their Mates".

Second all the above..sorry Oz, we're all good mate :friends: I just get a little :kez_11: when I post and then people put down what I already have..sorry, I may not put it in exactly the same words but basicly say the same thing..the joys of being backwards :blush2: Only thing I don't agree with is about what people post sometimes as you'd think trout was mad :mocking: but he's one of the nicest blokes that you'll ever come across :good: me on the other hand :crazy_pilot: but have good intentions at heart and like you and others and don't want to rip, be ripped or see other get ripped, I think most people here have good intentions and that's what makes it so good :)
