What does everyone think of the 2012 commemorative 2 Dollars?

It is a pretty attractive design.

I had a dealer from here in Wellington get one for me off a dealer in Melbourne a few weeks ago.

Very attractive reverse in my opinion! Would love for it to become permanent.

I really liked the design and I hope it leads to many more circulating commemorative $2 coins.

Nice design, but I really, really hope they don't do any more. I gave up stamp collecting because Australia Post went overboard, and instead of just buying the stamp, and maybe a sheet, you had to buy the set of stamps, the strip, the special gutter strip, the mini sheet, the commemorative pack, the maxi card, etc etc etc.. a 50 cent stamp became a $20 investment, each and every issue.

We're already a long way down this road with the $1 coins, not to mention the 50¢ and occasional 20¢. I really really don't want to see twenty different $2 coins every year as well. Right now I can mostly ignore the $2 coins, and I'd prefer to keep it that way.

I think it's fantastic, probably close to the best commemorative that had been released, I recently purchased a roll of the coloured version and can't stop staring at it.
I'm a huge fan.

Is the coloured one in circulation?

I have an example of the non-coloured one.
