I'm off to Japan in March next year for a month. I've already sorted out 250,000 yen to take but part of the trip is on Cunard's Queen Elizabeth and the purser only takes US currency. I don't suppose some of our members have some US banknotes that they haven't changed yet and aren't "collecting" and would be interested in swapping back for Aussie dollars?
Similar for Swiss Francs for later next year. Aussie to both exchange rates are terrible atm, unlike Aussie to yen.

I'm hoping for an improvement in our exchange rate but I think I'm kidding myself.

Do they take card payments? Cruises I have been on charge purchases to the room and give you a bill for the total at the end of your trip.
If they take cards then I recommend the Wise card. On recent trip to Fiji it gave better exchange rate than my foreign exchange fee free Mastercard or the best rate I could find at any money exchange.
Wise card
It's a debit card and you can load iot with USD from your bank account or load AUD and it will be converted if you use it for a USD transaction.

If you want to buy US notes before you go then best buy rate in Australia is SMoney.

Always happy to hear if anyone knows where to get a better exchange deal.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

They set up an account and charge you at the end but you can give the purser cash at the start and they add that to your account and give you back whatever is left at the end.
I got my yen through S Money. The fees for US dollars and Swiss francs aren't as good. I'll keep watching them.
