Keep an eye out because a lot of photo slides are being discarded, maybe after copying to a digital format. Being the same size as 2x2 coin holders the various storage containers are perfect for coins.

The long holders in the blue tub are from a projector.

Looks good.

Tis a pity that the old slide box will not take the slabs.

Perhaps something like this for slabs, if available in a suitable size. Might need lining to prevent scratching.

Jeff H -  just a question.  Have you considered if the wood tannins give off any fumes that might ultimately affect the coins?

I use metal 35mm slide enclosures for that reason.

I hadn't thought about that Peter. These would be at least forty years old judging from dates on the slides and lists that came in them. So would certainly be very well seasoned. Varnished or painted outside but raw wood inside.
Thanks for the prompt. I will give them a clear coat inside and out and let them site for a couple of weeks for the varnish to cure. "Abundance of caution" as it were -a phrase that has come into vogue lately.

I will be using them for coins that I intend selling off in the coming months so they are not for long term storage anyway. I have many multiples from a bulk purchase from a collection that was being disposed off -only really wanted some (mostly crowns and florins) for myself and other forum members but there were a large number of UNC 50¢ commemoratives and the price was reasonable.
My own collection is in Purple Penny polypropylene folders.

Not sure what type of plastic those holders are but I will probably only be using those as a convenience for posting any I sell.
