Interesting coin that i haven't seen before, appears to be an overdate over the 1,the final 1 seems to be in the correct position.Die marker over 'U' of Australia but i can't match this to any of my 1931 or 33 Pennies.
Anyone seen/read/heard anything about the Mint playing around with 1931 hubs/dies in 1932 or 33.

Edit...looking at it again it looks like a 'dropped 1' under the 3,wierd.

...bump..anyone got an opinion(other than die spall,LOL) on this Coin,i've never seen one like it and i can't match the reverse die to any of my 1931 or 33 Pennies of which i have a considerable number...TIA.

Looks interesting Basil.
The gunk obscures it a bit though.

Thanks Echi,i've never seen anything like it with 1933 pennies.

I'll get it in a ultrasonic bath on the W/end ,to see if there are any Die markers, and post some new Pics.

Created a lot of interest amongst our small band of enthusiasts up here on the NSW North Coast,no one has anything similar in their collections nor anything with a die marker over 'U".

I have around 23 1933's Basil, I'll check them out when I come across them next. Very interesting indeed.

Thanks Uni,it looks like a 1,possibly a dropped 1,under the last 3.

Under a loupe it looks like a die mark over the first stroke of the 'U' in Australia but will know more when i give it a bath, can't hurt the Coin as it has no natural value unless it is an early experimental OD.

A close up of the first 3 would be good.
To see if the little tip on the middle of the 3 is there.

Hi Echi..i'll throw them up now as i'll be tied up tomorrow,i've put them all up as i haven't had time to sort, all Pics. of the first 3.I'll put the Coin in a bath to get rid of the gunk and post more Pics. on the w/end.

Thanks for the replies guys but the owner doesn't want me giving the Coin a bath and wants it back.If he changes his mind or agrees to sell it to me i'll post here.Interesting Coin.
