Mr Squiggle Error Coin

Not as nice as the one on the news from The Purple Penny but shopped this around the Brisbane Coin Show today and most agree it is a genuine error. The RAM rep seemed to think it just missed the colour application process and passed on through to circulation. Almost gave the guy from the Melb Mint a heart attack when I casually handed it across for his review. Trying to get some indication of what it may be worth? No one seemed to be able to gauge a value and 1 suggested I throw it up on eBay with a high reserve and see what happens. Image attached with a non error coin for comparison.

Looks like the paint has been removed with acetone.

PP's coin is a true error because the paint was applied to the wrong side of the coin.
The OP's coin simply has no paint on it which is easily achieved by dipping the coin in acetone so it is impossible to prove that it is a true error coin.
It's worth $2.

OR PP's coin could be a work of art fake!! Has it been authenticated by a TPG service?. How many of the same coin have showed up??. A one of a kind ERROR!!!! Sounds to me there's something fishy in Denmark..Also it wont be long before paint errors start showing up on Scam-bay..Just my opinion, attack if you wish..

Hi Leonard, If I where you i would check the area with a UV light + 30x mag to see if there is any trace of paint or chemicals.. :idea:

For the sake of interest I've just seen photos on a FB post of a 2018 Commonwealth Games $2 with the coloured ring also on the obverse.
