I'm thinking of posting the following in the Public Forum Announcements.  I believe that many of our responses to applications are ending up in peoples' 'spam folders'.

If you have applied for membership, but were not approved, please check your Email 'spam folder' as occasionally our replies are misdirected there.

We usually send one message in response to each application and if we don't hear back from the applicant within 1 week, the application is withdrawn.

If you have applied in the past and not been approved, this is most likely what happened, so please try again and remember to check your Email 'spam folder' for a response.

We take these steps to ensure that we do not approve any 'spammers'.

What do you think?
OK?
Any alterations?

I've had a couple newbies tell me that they found my response to their application in their 'junk/spam' folder and I wondered if that's what might have happened in a lot more cases.

I find it a bit odd that so many people would go to the trouble of applying & then ignore a forum message.

I've kept most of the forum generated application notices since sometime in 2013, and there have been approx 130, admittedly a hand full of those were 'spammers' whom I deleted without any further action, but there are probably still well over 100 that I thought would reply but didn't.

Time will tell I suppose.
