Does anyone have a recommendation for a basic image editing app/software ?
Simple cropping & rotating of coin pics.

Win 10 stuff is rubbish.

I just use Windows Live Photo Gallery that's already on my PC.
Seems to work OK for me.

Irfanview is one of the best Freewares,i use it nearly every day in one form or another, very easy to use once you master the basics. It can do just about everything with a Photo.,enlarge, decrease, crop, rotate to exact degrees,Panorama(side by side or top bottom) Pics.A guy on a now defunct O/S Forum put me on to it,i had never heard of it at the time.Worth a try.

Irfinview is good, I use it in conjunction with Photoscape.
(Current Photoscape is V3.7, states compatible with Win 10, not sure about Irfanview)

If your looking for something with advanced features take a look at GIMP 2.  It can view RAW photos (if that is your thing) and has many advanced capabilities.

Also can be used to rotate, crop and change picture properties.

Best of all - it's free.

I have used Paint.net on the last 2 laptops win7 and win10, Easy to use and more importantly FREE :good:

I've been using PhotoScape for some years now.

It's free and had to be simple so even I could use it. I find that the more I used it initially, the more likely it was that I'd remember the steps.

FordPrefect did some instructions, I'll see if I can track them down.

How about AC/DC.   I have been using that for a long time now and find it does everything I want.

Scanner import, cropping, resizing, editing and renaming, boarders etc etc etc.

That's AC/DSee. I have that too, but haven't fully worked it out yet.

I have had it for years and my son gets the free download s to upgrade it from time to time.

I have not used all of it's caperbilities but I have mastered what I want and the bits I use.

I find it excellent.

And you are correct in the programme name.
