At starting price these are only a small premium on face value. Might be of interest to someone in Melbourne area.
50 cent collection HUGE hoard of 2,692 coins MANY RARE
OK, not many 'rare' but could be enough good ones to be worth the while noodling them.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

Let's think about this...

1 x Year 2000 Millennium Incused Variety VERY RARE
271 x Year 2000 Millennium
390 x Standard Coat of Arms various years
434 x Centenary of Federation Coat of Arms
31 x Western Australia (WA) State Centenary of Federation
29 x Victoria (VIC) State Centenary of Federation
19 x New South Wales (NSW) State Centenary of Federation
15 x Northern Territory (NT) State Centenary of Federation
12 x South Australia (SA) State Centenary of Federation
5 x Australian Capital Territory (ACT) State Centenary of Federation
12 x Tasmania (TAS) State Centenary of Federation
 19 x Queensland (QLD)State Centenary of Federation
9 x Norfolk Island Centenary of Federation

247 x Rememberance 60th Anniversary of WWII 2005
167 x Weary Dunlop 1995
 66 x Australia Day 2010
29 x Year 1988 Bicentenary Tall Ships
20 x Year 1991 Rams Head 25th Anniversary of Decimal Currency

43 x Year 2000 Royal Visit with Parliament Building Flag
219 x Year 2005 Melbourne Commonwealth Games
204 x Year 1994 International Year of the Kids
262 x Year 1998 Bass Flinders Discovery of Bass Strait
188 x Year 2003 Year of the Volunteer

There might be the odd error or variety in the rest, like maybe a wide date 1994, but most of them would end up back in the pond.

Question is, how much of a premium are the red ones worth, when you can just get a few sacks from the bank at face and noodle them yourself?

Agreed but how many thousands of dollars and hours would be required to get 5 sets of CoA and 20 ramsheads and an incused millennium?
Plus maybe a 1985 and a few 1993 coat of arms.
I wonder why no 1970 Cooks.

A lot, which is why I reached out. I'm not going to bid, but if, as I suspect, they don't sell, I'll probably pop over to Brighton and see if we can strike a deal. :)
