I based my pricing on comparable items that I have sold previously and then took off some and also put in free registered post on the higher priced items. In other words I've previously sold similar coins for more than what I was asking so I didn't really think I was having a lend of myself.

Anyhow the rarer ones didn't go, so I've dropped down the starting prices. With the two high end dollar coins, I think they are well and truly worth it as I've found more mules than both of these combined. The stats that Goldie has provided in other posts would also confirm their rarity to be as such.

I have found, when listing similar items at different times, a high starting price sells at not much more (or fails to sell at all) and a low starting price -say $1.00- often fetches a better final price.
My theory is a low starting price attracts an early bid and that then is an encouragement to other bidders.

Thanks Jeff, I totally understand what you mean but my anxiety just about kills me as it is. I tried the low start once and I just about went crazy and was impossible to be around. Them's the breaks I guess.

(PS: Thanks to all for the well wishes and the bids / sales of yesterday's ones).

The solution to this is not to list it yourself. That's what disinterested spouses/children/neighbours are for. Insulation between your stress levels and the sources of stress.

I find it quite exciting -entertaining even.
I am pretty laid back with selling on eBay. Sometimes a sale price is disappointing and sometimes much higher than expectation. I think one situation balances out the other.
Where price exceeds expectations, and I have more the same, I always offer a second chance -sometimes ignored and sometimes accepted. Still have the same level of eBay (and PayPal) charges relative to the sale price but it avoids the hassle of taking another set of photos and submitting another listing later -also avoids the possibility of a poor price next time.
