I have a set of One & Two cent proofs to which I have just dug out & had a good look at, gee they are good looking coins especially the Two cents they are really great coins even Lizzie looks good,
I'd forgotten how good they are.

I am of the opinion that all the Australian proof sets are beautifully made and the post mint handling and packaging is fantastic , The 1966 sets are the exception due to the way they were packaged in the clamshell type case and toning and handling issues developed because of this.
Although some of the detail in the design is "lost" due to the frosting they still bring the design on the coin to life and are a pleasure to view.

It's a real shame no 1967 or 1968 sets were issued in either mint or proof sets.
1966 Proof sets weren't issued until 1969

Funny, from my recollection I received my 2 sets early December 1967,
and the recorded cost was $28 including postage.
(The Sets were $12.50 each which was cost recovery with no Markup)

You might find that the late last orders for the 1966 sets were issued in 1969.
