These three Finnish 1 penny coins of same era show three different obverse. Nikolai II was the Grand Duke of Finland until September 1917, therefore N II obverse. During the temporary Russian Government the pennies were minted with a Russian double headed eagle. In December 1917 Finland declared their independence (when Russia was weak and in turmoil), hence Finnish Lion on the obverse.

This tiny coin measures only 15mm across.

In 1969 the price of copper became too expensive to mint 1 penny coins so the Finnish Mint switched to aluminium. The obverse text says: Republic of Finland

Cool, thanks for sharing and think I might have one of the aluminium one's but would have to check.

The notes are so full of history but one costs >10k!

Waaah! That looks like another 3 tiny coins for me to find for my collection.  Any world coins 17mm or under will qualify.
