I have been going through my random stuff and found this.
I'm pretty sure that I won this on Numisbid a while back.

It is PCGS Graded at MS62BN with a Bluesheet value of $250.
However it has a planchet flaw at 3 o'clock on the obverse .
Does this decrease its value because of the flaw or does it increase its value because of it?
Also wondering how the graders at PCGS Missed this .

Coins aren't automatically rejected if they have planchet flaws. Here is what PCGS says about this:

Small, unobtrusive planchet flaws are acceptable. Large, obvious, poorly placed, or distracting flaws are rejected. Context is also important.

Unicorn

It's a nice flaw Trout. But it's a shame about the Martian between the M and N. (Funny eh ....M artia N).

yes, there are standard grades and values and then there are the individual attributes of the coin - positive and negative
ps that flaw has lustre in it, so it looks as if it was a part of the original minting process (IMO)
