Do we know the exact #'s of the 4 types that where made from the 1,112?

And the grading of each type via PCGS?  To me it seems that 2 varieties only grade up to around PR63/4RD vs 2 others that grade up to PR67.

Am I complete off the money?

Why don't PCGS separate these varieties?

470 have a mirror finish while 642 have a brilliant finish and a matte relief.

These two should absolutely be distinguished as the brilliant and matte types are actually re-strikes and thus completely different coins. The original strikes were prepared like the 1955 and 1956 proofs and as such grade similarly so PR64RD is indeed a very high grade for the issue.

The two varieties of each two are just different dies and shouldn't be distinguished.

Thanks Walter,

It would be nice if PCGS would separate the population report.  Just to get a better understanding of the grades out for the two types.  I guess you just have to learn the market by experience or as you mentioned take the 1955/1956 population report as a guide.
