I think coin collecting would be frowned on if it was mentioned in that article....

I agree with you AS,  $110 M is lot of coins !  I didn't know our 5 cents are made out of pure gold :yahoo:
Collecting coins is not about having the best, but loving what you have ...

:laugh2: now that's pure gold :good:

so every year now that would be about the equivalent of taking the first 10 years out of circulation

Coiny Chris

Hello,

Do they give away the uncirculated Coins ? Do they sell them at cost ? Any loss is to the people that lost them. I doubt they will give you a free Coin to replace a " Lost " one so what crap are they talking ?

it is all BS, yes it might cost 6 cents to make a 5 these days (I think this is BS) but anyway, if it cost that how much do they make out of it every time someone buys something and when you think some of the coins are 4 years older than me and still floating around in the pond then they have well and truly got there money from them so to me it's all lies and just a P poor excuse to get rid of them to make EVERYTHING more expensive and don't try to tell me it doesn't same as the GST wasn't going to put things thru the roof when we all knew it would and this seems the same to me.

I note that the dear CEO didn't say how much it costs to produce a mint set and then how much they profit from the said sets

or all of the other granny bait (to quote a certain big fish)
