The three presenters of that popular TV motoring show, Top Gear, are Jeremy ('The Orangutan', 'Jezza') Clarkson, Richard ('The Hamster') Hammond and James ('Captain Slow') May -and then there is the Stig.

Andy Willman, executive producer of Top Gear defined the presenters as follows;
•Jeremy is walk through a door rather than open it
•Richard's a massively accident prone and cheeky chappie
•James is a pedantic nerd
•He had nothing to say about the Stig

Which one's personality is closest to your personality?

To help you consider here are some quotes from the men themselves;
•Jeremy. "Florida is full of of awful old people, fat people, nasty insects, people who offer you cheese and then shoot you!"
•Richard "I am a driving god." and "I'm not reckless. I was never reckless."
•James "I've never quite trusted water. I don't think it's entirely healthy." [He is a very keen fan of drinking bitter.]
•The Stig There are no recorded quotes from the Stig -he is the strong, silent type and likes the music of Burt Bacharach. It is believed he may have uttered some appropriate words when he crashed a Koenigsegg super car in front of the cameras but it is inaudible on the video tape.

While you are pondering the question here is the theme tune from the show...Allman Brothers - Jessica

Despite the chauvinistic overtones of the show this poll is open to all sexes.

Just to kick it off I have cast the first vote.

None of the above, those 3 blokes are egocentric dickheads :ok:
I like to consider myself Unique and most of the forum members are thus :good:
Most of us collect coins because we want to and by simply doing that it makes us different from the rest of the general population, Thus that makes us "Special" and unique :ok:
I Seriously doubt that any of us would fit into the criteria of those clowns.
BTW I do enjoy the show anyway :)

Trout,
You didn't vote. The fifth option matches your opinion.

Of course 'those 3 blokes are egocentric dickheads'. That is what makes the show so entertaining. The first series was very serious and sensible with well credentialed presenters but only appealed to a small minority of the population.

Compare the show to 5th Gear. Which is the true continuation of the original show. Which nobody watches. ;)

Its the comedy which makes the show entertaining. Sure, a lot of it is somewhat strained, like when they "ruined" the Sweeney movie. But audiences love it, and I think most don't take it at all seriously. And as for the three dickheads, well, they got very very rich playing dickheads, and are not at all like that in real life. Not that any TV presenter is, of course... its the manufactured persona that we love or hate, not the real, boring person behind the mask.

Watch both shows,5th gear grates a bit esp. when Plato is sucking up to Tiff,"this guy can really drive" etc.,wears thin episode after episode,much prefer the Top Gear guys taking the mickey out of one another.What worries me with with Top Gear is middle age men carrying on like Teenagers and this somehow is not only acceptable but a ratings winner.

Because a good (and increasing) slice of the population are exactly that. Doesn't everyone still see themselves as teenagers? ;)

I've never been able to get into the show, have a mate that loves it & watches it no matter how many repeats he see's
I watch it because he does, but just not my cup of tea. I not not saying it's bad, stupid or not funny.
Just saying, eh it's just another TV show of light entertainment.
But no vote sorry..
