Not really a "Snapshot" the years of 2002-2009 are where the vast majority of the MS70 coins are found :ok:

Actually you are right, a statistical snapshot is where you take a small sample that is representative of a much larger one. The wedding set years are not representative of the 50 years of decimal coins.

You will also notice that there is an incredible absence of MS70 coins in most of the other years and denominations of decimal coins on the population reports .
This why I feel that it is important that the Wedding set coins shouldn't have been included in the Business strike registries because they are a very different class of coin and the numbers of MS70 coins in the 2002-2009 range make that abundantly clear:ok:

You are correct, including the wedding sets (2002 - 2009) distorts the results.

According to the proposition, "The more coins you send over, the more 70s you'll get", if you sent enough coins for the other years then the MS70 populations would rise (and presumably match the wedding set years) but I'm not sure about that. There is a thing called diminishing returns and I doubt they made enough coins to produce that many 70s.

I will answer this on the Wedding Set thread, Sothat I don't clog this one up with this :ok:

Quote from: 'trout' pid='99772' dateline='1476114301'If you look at the PCGS pop reports you will see that the Vast majority of non nclt MS70 coin come from the Wedding set years This comes as No surprise to me But prior to this year there were only a handful of MS70 graded coins and yet there was a healthy number of coins graded.
Statistically there should have been more coins graded at MS70 then but there wasn't.
I am intrigued that the recent submissions managed to achieve what the prior submissions couldn't using the same source of coins, Namely the 2002-2009 Wedding sets.

Massive quantities of them were sent over with a minimum grade. This increases the pops of the top-end without the statistically expected increase at the lower end.

To have a wedding set coin grade lower than MS68 would be unusual :ok:

I actually got a Wedding set coin graded at SP67 on my last submission.
I was shocked But then again I really didn't have much of an inspection of the coins I sent I just took them out of their capsules and sent them off.
40 out of 42 coins graded SP69 or better and 15 of them came back SP70.
