Mister T

Oh I completely forgot today - I'll have to head out tomorrow.

Fishing

I am not impressed at all and have sent the below to the Royal Australian Mint.

Today I attended Woolworths trying to collect the new Socceroos $2 coins and I was not impressed with the Woolworths staff.

It is clear that there has been a crack down from the RAM via a direction to Woolworths management. Clearly, as evident, the coins are being sold on e-bay. I am an avid coin collector and give most of the coins I collect to my children and grandchildren. I DO NOT sell on e-bay and never have.

The obvious direction given by the RAM to Woolworths management is having unexpected consequences to collectors like myself. The staff are rude to their customers. This was the case with Woolworths staff to me today.

It does not reflect well on the RAM at all. I have to assume the behavior of Woolies staff is an unintended reaction to their management crackdown following the RAM reaction to e-bay sellers.

It would be appreciated if the RAM could contact Woolworths management and resolve the unacceptable attitude and behavior of Woolworths staff.

Should any further information be required, I may be contacted on xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
Regards

If you click on the Woolworths link I posted above and then click on the Terms and Conditions link have a look at item 19 ...

This is it

19. If the 2022 Socceroos Centenary $2 coins are unavailable for any reason, Woolworths may
suspend, terminate or extend the promotion. 2022 Socceroos Centenary $2 coins may not,
without the prior consent of the promoter, be resold or offered for resale at a premium (including
via online auction sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes
(including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or
services. If any 2022 Socceroos Centenary $2 coins are sold or used in breach of this condition,
Woolworths may, at its absolute discretion, withdraw the 2022 Socceroos Centenary $2 coins.
Following any withdrawal in accordance with this clause, no refund, substitute or compensation
will be offered.

So they are not to be sold on Ebay apparently.  - Mike
Australian Decimal, UK Decimal, USA & Euro Coins are what I collect.

I managed to get 12 of the coins last time from the service desk and the girl there was very kind and helpful.

Most of the times I've asked for any spare coloured coins the staff have been helpful. However, twice yesterday, at different Woolies, the staff have been rude and unprofessional. I was so incensed I sent the above to the RAM. :dash1:

Once they are out of Woolies hands they have ZERO control over what happens to them because they are legal tender.
I can't see them taking their bat and ball and going home because some scu... person has managed to get bags or rolls and flogged em on eBag. What would they do with them if they refuse to release them? Melt them down? I doubt it. That would just make the scu... person sellin them on eBag overjoyed because there would be even less of them.

Seriously crazy money some collectors have.
